Grandpas Funeral on May 12 2010

My grandfather, Robert Bruce Wallace, died on May 7 and I, along with many other families members attended his funeral on May 12. It was a somber day, I drove 2.5 hours to Preston Idaho the whole way pondering life, death, The Plan... But the drive home was much better. I better understood The Plan and that we don't know when our time is up. My Grandpa led a great life, yes he made some mistakes, some he probably wished he could re-do, but from those mistakes he has become a great man. He was so giving and loving and he always told his granddaughters how BEAUTIFUL they were! I was fortunante enough to live by then until I was about 10 years old I think then they moved to Utah. Since then all my family has moved to Utah and left me alone in California. But everytime I would visit dear old grandpa he would always tell me how much he loved me and how he so wished he could do the things he once could do with me again. There is only one time to live your life and he truly lived it to its fullest.

Being at the funeral was wonderful, I got to see my family... my handsome little brother Sir William, my father in a kilt :) my sweet angel Paisley, my awesome sister Mackenzie and my beautiful mother. My grandmother was so happy to see all of us and was certainly overwhelmed with the love we all showed to her and grandpa. No Wallace funeral is complete without a bagpiper, that just makes it seem so much more real and in a way shows respect to our heritage of our Scotland ancestors long ago.

I am so grateful for The Plan and I know that it is real and true. Without it I would be so confused and lost. Families can be together Forever! One of the best things about this trip was that I got to see some cousins I havn't seen in years. Some dont go to church anymore and have lost their way... but just to show them that I know the church is true and that it is necessary for us to follow Christ's teachings to live with Him again, it was great to bare a silent testimony to them that the church is true. Hopefully this experience will bring them closer to God and help them realize they need to "come back home."

My Mother

Happy Mothers Day :)

What a special holiday, I loved this day growing up and making unique arts and crafts for my mother and telling her how much i loved her. this day, we are apart. as we have been for a while. but i felt close to her. i was assigned to give a talk on mothers day and i felt good to be able to tell the world about my own mother and how wonderful she is. my declaration that my mom is the best. "The simplest example a mother can give to her children, family and others around her is to give service. My own mother has served her husband for the last 22 years of their marriage, my father is deaf and in order for him to understand others he needs an interpreter. My mother was that interpreter. She even managed his window washing business by calling clients for him and setting up appointments. She is constantly serving others as Young Women’s president, serving her 4 children, taking in family friends to live with them and take care of them, and as her employment she interprets for others as well, her hands never stop signing." i could have gone on and on... she truly is amazing and i am so blessed to not only have her but a wonderful mother in law Denise as well. i love that i will be a mother someday, and though i feel i am the mother of paisley, william, and mackenzie really I am not... though i would be blessed if i was! i will have my own children.. maybe 4 we'll see.. I love Moms!
