2nd Wedding Anniversary Trip

This year for Aaron and I's anniversary we went down to San Diego! Or as Aaron would say, "Saaan Diiaaaggooo". We had a blast! We left just this past Saturday morning and we went straight to the Go-Car Tours! We had the choice to tour Point Loma, or downtown SD, we chose Point Loma for the ocean views! We left on this tiny little go-car (almost like a bumper car), aaron drove the whole time. I can't tell you how many funny looks we got, but we laughed the whole time it was probably the best thing we chose to do all weekend.

After that we went to lunch at Phil's BBQ. We saw a special on Man vs. Food on the Food Network and it looked so good we had to try it. And they didn't disappoint!

We checked into our hotel at 3pm, and I just about collapsed when I saw the most beautiful King size bed! The view was good too, but the bed was breathtaking! Okay Okay, so the 17th floor of the Grand Hyatt was awesome too. Got both a city and bay view, so lucky!

Once we saw the pool outside the window we headed down there to check it out! There were actually 2 pools, one for families and one for 21 years and older. Guess which one we chose? So calm and relaxing, a bit chilly outside so we left and headed for a warm bathtub! I won't go any further...

We also went to the newly remodeled Mormon Battalion Visitors Center. I can't tell you how awesome it is! Such a great job on the videos, backrounds, just the whole experience was so fun. And we got an awesome picture at the end of it and got to pan for gold!

From there we headed to Old Town and just walked the streets having a good ole' time. And if you can believe it, in walking around one of the General Stores in old time, Aaron found me a key chain with my name on it! In all my 21 years I have yet to see a key chain with my name on it! Victory! After all our walking we headed back to the Hotel for a rest and then dinner at one of our favorite resturants, Chili's! We spent the rest of the night just watching TV, hanging out, exploring the hotel, and having fun!

Sunday morning after the most wonderful and amazing sleep in the King bed, we went to Seaport Village to get some breakfast and go for a walk. We ended up walking thru a Chevy Car Show. We love car shows! So we looked and took some pictures.

We couldn't really decide what to do next because there was so much to do! So we walked along Harbor Blvd. and tried to get some ideas going. We chose to tour the USS Midway ship! I've done it once before with my family but Aaron says he's never done something like this so we had to do it! How does that thing seriously float? Just amazes me. So we got our head phones on and strapped our shoes on tight for the long tour ahead of us!

After our exhausting walk around the ship we thought we would treat ourselves to a bowl of delicious clam chowder at Anthony's Fish Grotto! I swear Anthony's has the best clam chowder anywhere! San Fransisco's is hard to beat, but still. It was so good! Give me some bread, chowder, a sunset window view, my hubby and i'm in heaven!

We then walked along the boardwalk trying and deciding what to do with the remaining hours we had left, sad to say the Aquarium closed at 5pm... and the Segways were to expensive, Parasailing would have been fun, la de la de la, so we just went home! We were exhausted from walking that ship anyways. So goodbye San Diaaagooo, it was fun while it lasted!

I owe a big THANK YOU to my husband for making this trip possible seeing as I do not have a job right now (hopefully soon). And I also say THANK YOU to Aaron for making all my dreams become a reality. I love you. And here's to another 2 years and an eternity together. We have many more years to explore the world, and eachother! ;)

Wedding Anniversary

It's that time again! Time to celebrate another year with my hubby! 2 years goes by so fast when you're having fun together! I can remember the day I got sealed like it was yesterday, I woke up so happy and excited, getting my hair and makeup done. It was such a beautiful day, the sun shining and I knew everything was right. No doubt in my mind everything would be okay and that this was the right choice. More importantly, He was the right one. We held hands walking into the temple, making sure we were at the right spot, where do we go? whats next? It was all so exciting. We separated and got changed, and after what felt like forever we were back together again, ready. We sat and talked in the Celestial room before getting married, this much older couple came up to us and said "every year on our anniversary we come back to the temple together." I'm sure they had been married 50 years already... I hope to do that too. We finally walked, went up an elevator, met with our sealor, and went into Room A (we thought that was funny because everything with us is the letter A). There was our beautiful families sitting, waiting for us. I was so happy to be there. The ceremony was so beautiful, and I have never felt the spirit overwhelm me like it did that day. I was such a cry baby. Everything was right, I was doing the right thing. I was forever sealed to my companion. I would have been totally okay with not having any wedding reception at all... All I needed that day, was the moment. That Yes. Just me and him forever. As we walked out of Room A, a calming peace came over me and I knew we had made God happy. He was smiling down. Then we got dressed and ready, and I was so happy for him to finally see me in my wedding dress. I knew he would like it. As we rushed out of the doors, smiles all over our faces, family everywhere, it was all just so perfect. Our perfect day. August 23, 2008.

And everyday since that day has been a blessing in my life. I can honestly say I love my husband more now that I did on that day. He's my best friend. My eternal companion. My personal comedian. I will always love him!

P.S. this is what my husband looked like when I met him! This is our first picture together at a BYU football game. This is the day is all started!

From there I went to go visit him in Rexburg where we was going to school at, it was SO hard being apart for 8 weeks!

This is another trip I made to Idaho, we went & stayed in a cabin with his family

This picture is on my 19th Bday just right after I decided to move to Idaho to be with Aaron :)

And this is the day we got engaged, only 3 weeks after I moved there!

sickie

That is what I am, a Sickie. As of August 2 I've had a bacterial infection in my stomach and it still has yet to say goodbye. Let's just say i've gotten to know my bathroom real well. The couch has permanent indentions where I lay resting for hours on end. I do continue however, to have faith that this will go away soon so that one day I may get a job to help my over-time stressed working husband. The days are long, the nights are the worst. Glass full of water, one after the other. In all reality I was going to try and lose the weight myself by working out, eating healthy, etc... This kind of just happenend and it did it for me. huh.

I'm a Mormon

Mormons are yet again on the news and on websites everywhere! But one thing I love that the Church is doing is the new campaign called "I'm a Mormon". It's getting a lot of publicity, some good some bad. But if you go to Yahoo under 'Mormon ads unique message' you can read the latest article featuring Joy Monahan, the surfer. And then if you go to Mormon.org you can see all the awesome videos of the "I'm a Mormon" campaign and you'll even find my bishop and his family on there too (Julie Hess)! Pretty cool. At least one thing I know I can count on, the church will always be true and that I will always be a Mormon.

Proposition 8

Well, it happened again. Prop 8 to "protect and preserve marriage as a man and a woman" was overturned yet again. What is wrong with California legislators? Isn't two separate voting times enough for you? I think it's pretty clear that California wants to preserve marriage the way it should be.

The Church released a statement that expresses their concerns:

“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints regrets today’s decision. California voters have twice been given the opportunity to vote on the definition of marriage in their state and both times have determined that marriage should be recognized as only between a man and a woman. We agree. Marriage between a man and a woman is the bedrock of society.
“We recognize that this decision represents only the opening of a vigorous debate in the courts over the rights of the people to define and protect this most fundamental institution—marriage.

“There is no doubt that today’s ruling will add to the marriage debate in this country, and we urge people on all sides of this issue to act in a spirit of mutual respect and civility toward those with a different opinion.”

It is no doubt we are in the last days. Even our own country, the promised land, has so many things wrong with it. Our future hangs in the balance of those in Congress, why is it like that? Anyway, I'm glad to know that I have a God who truly does watch over our country and whatever does happens, it happens for a reason. He'll come again soon and the whole world will truly see what He has in store for us.

My Eternal Families!

A saturday with the Antis's

yesterday was a funfilled day... we drove the 1 hour and precisely 10 minutes to Los Angeles via navigation by our new TomTom :) to meet up with my father-in-law David and his lovely wife Julie for brunch at noon. We ate at the Novel Cafe in Westwood, right down the street from UCLA. We ate, talked, and talked some more. Its fun to get together with them whenever we can. They are searching for an apartment in Los Angeles area. Big move from NYC if you ask me! After that Aaron and I went to the Los Angeles Temple and walked around it. Its such a beautiful temple! Its somewhat placed like the Rexburg Temple, on top of a large hill for the whole city to see.

Then we headed to the place where "i want that! i want this! that too!!" is every other sentence coming out of my mouth. IKEA. That place is amazing, a piece of HGTV right in front of your eyes to embrace. We are in the middle of furnishing our new apartment looking for practically everything. The only thing we actually have is couches. We need basically everything else. So IKEA is the place to go. I think the only thing we actually got was pillows and cool covers for them. We actually get to design a place cuz we're not moving for at least one year.... possibly two! yay! :)

Then headed home and made some dinner.. and watched this awesome movie!

A great way to spend a Saturday if you ask me. Now if only I could find a job to buy all those things we need...
